Mapping workshops

Mapping your past and future

Property computer mapping provides a birds’ eye view of properties from which to
plan infrastructure, monitor and improve productivity.

Attendees receive the latest satellite imagery of their properties and are taught how to build on it using mapping software to create an effective property map.

While AgForward is no longer delivering free computer mapping workshops, a limited number of workshops will be delivered through AgForce Projects' Biodiversity Project and in the Fitzroy Basin through funding from the Australian Government. Landholders can also receive property computer mapping assistance through the CSG project.

See the events calendar for upcoming dates.

If there are no workshops in your region please contact AgServices for fee-for-service options.

Colinton grazier John Westaway (on right with Joe Gough, 'Windsor Grove' and Andy Altmann, 'Nukinenda') is a ‘computer convert’ and says property mapping will make a big difference to the way he manages his cattle business.

Mr Westaway attended a property computer mapping workshop in Esk and said the hands-on workshop provided him with a step-by-step guide to creating a property map and using mapping software to improve productivity.

“I have been using a mapping program for a  while, however I wanted to become more proficient using the program,” Mr Westaway said.

“It will be great to be able to plan and manage our property from behind a computer, making general farm management so much easier. I plan to use the software to plan out watering points and to map distances to water and infrastructure.”
