CSG news for South-East Queensland

March and April have been busy months for the CSG team, with the start of our CSG property computer mapping (PCM) workshops in the SEQ region. Workshops were held in Warwick and Toowoomba and have followed on from the AgForward PCM workshops. It is important to have access to management tools such as property computer mapping when negotiating with resource companies and the new CSG/PCM workshops are a good opportunity for a refresher in PCM and to also see how property mapping can be used as a tool for preparing for CSG negotiations.

Please see the AgForce Projects events page for upcoming workshops or submit an expression of interest form.

This month saw Arrow Energy undertake community consultation sessions in relation to the release of their EIS’s. AgForce Projects CSG officer Dan Corfe travelled to Miles to view Arrow’s Surat Gas Project Overview by Arrow’s community engagement sttaff, followed by the EIS presentation by Coffey Environmental Consultants. Arrow staff delivered on the Current Arrow Overview, Water Management and Potential Impacts, then Coffey Environmentalist Consultant, Barton Napier, discussed the specific EIS information. The audience consisted of approximately 40 landholders in the beginning, reducing to approximately 10 toward the end of the three hour session. Landholder queries at this session focused on potential underground water impacts in relation to water drawdown of the Walloon Coal Measure within the Great Artesian Basin from all active CSG companies, as well as queries on rehabilitation, recovery periods, and compensation. If you would like more information, please contact CSG project officer Dan Corfe.

Completed sessions:
Carbon, CSG, Strategic Cropping Land and vegetation management field days in April at Chinchilla, Condamine, Dalby, Millmerran, Pittsworth, Clifton and Warwick. These were really well attended and informative for all involved.
